At the Biennial Session of the Supreme Council in Washington, DC, the morning of August 22, 2011,
Ill. H. Jack Yost, 33° was formally introduced to the world as being one of
33 Sovereign Grand Inspectors General in the Southern Jurisdictions Supreme Council.

West Virginia is proud to receive Illustrious Brother Yost as the leader of Scottish Rite Masonry
in West Virginia and our Active representative on the Supreme Council.

Illustrious Brother Yost, 33° SGIG joins Illustrious Brother C B Hall, 33° SGIG (emeritus)
as honored West Virginians in the Supreme Council family.



Illustrious H. Jack Yost, 33°, Sovereign Grand Inspector General in West Virginia,

has just announced that Vicar John R. Unger, II, 32° KCCH, Majority Leader of the West Virginia State Senate

has accepted the appointment to be Orient Chaplain for the Scottish Rite in West Virginia.

`

John is a Pastor in the Lutheran Church and serving as Vicar of the historic Civil War church

St. John’s Lutheran Church in Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.

`

He has worked extensively in Refugee work in Hong Kong as well as helping to provide relief

to Kurdish refugees in Southern Turkey and Northern Iraq working with orphanages,

children’s hospitals, senior care homes and homes for the mentally disabled.

John served with Mother Teresa in Calcutta for more than a year. While in Hong Kong,

he also assisted as an advisor to various governmental agencies prior to the change of government.

`

John serves the Chaplaincy Service at Jefferson Memorial Hospital in Ranson,

and City Hospital in Martinsburg, WV.

`

Vicar Unger holds Degrees in Liberal Arts/Biology, Philosophy, Politics and Economics and currently enrolled

 in the Master of Divinity Program at Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D. C..

`

He and his wife Cara reside in Martinsburg, West Virginia.

`

We welcome Brother Unger as part of the Scottish Rite Leadership Team in West Virginia.
